In First Steps in Coaching by Bob Thomson, coaching is defined by the equation:

Awareness + Responsibility = Performance

This equation applies equally well to career and life coaching. Our ability to evolve arises from our awareness: the coach’s primary task is to raise our awareness by asking good questions.

At Epistimi, our coaches have experienced many aspects of the scientific journey from graduate school to industry or academia.

Dr. Angeliki Rigos has studied many types of coaching and teaches coaching as part of the leadership program. She adjusts her coaching method to the particular needs of her clients and is not certified in any specific metholodology. If you choose to work with her, she will support you in addressing many challenges including the following:

Navigating Your Transition: Group Coaching for Women in STEMM Entering Industry Roles

Shifting from academia to industry can be exciting, but also disorienting. Unspoken norms, changing expectations, and new power dynamics can make it hard to find your footing. This group coaching program is designed to help you build confidence, communicate effectively, and take ownership of your career from day one.

Who is this for?
This program is for women in STEMM fields who have recently accepted or started their first role in industry or the corporate sector and want to set themselves up for long-term success.

What to expect
Six 90-minute virtual sessions, held every two weeks, starting in August. Each session blends practical frameworks, peer discussion, and real-world tools to help participants build influence, manage projects effectively, and navigate their organization with confidence.

This cohort is facilitated by Carla Huang, an ICF certified executive coach with more than 20 years of experience across strategy consulting and corporate leadership. With a background in engineering and a coaching focus on women in STEMM fields, she helps high potential professionals grow into the leaders they aspire to be, with clarity, practicality, and impact.
